Summary:

The AS9100 Quality Engineer is responsible for improving Mission’s Quality Management System (QMS) and verifying compliance to AS9100 and prescribed procedures. The AS9100 Quality Engineer will plan, schedule, and perform system audits, and utilize audit and QMS data to recommend and lead continuous improvements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance to AS9100 QMS standards, Mission policies and procedures, and customer requirements
• Correct and prevent compliance non-conformance and drive continuous improvement to the management system
• Coordinate and maintain internal audit schedules and audit checklists
• Measure and monitor QMS data and develop reports to leadership on compliance status and improvement initiatives
• Provide system training and guidance to Mission leadership and departments
• Working in a team environment as well as individually
• Project work as needed

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 4 years of experience implementing management systems and auditing AS9100 Quality Management Systems standards
• Thorough knowledge of AS/ISO standards, specifically AS9100
• Strong technical writing and communication skills; must be able to describe problems and solutions in a clear, concise manner to all levels in the business
• Dependable, self-directed, self-disciplined, and possesses initiative
• Excellent time management and multitasking skills; organized and detail oriented
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Proficient user of Windows and Microsoft Office software

Education, Experience and/or Certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other engineering discipline
• Regulated industry experience such as Aerospace / Avionics / Space
• Minimum of 4 years of direct experience
