Under the direction of the Recreation Coordinator and Recreation Supervisor, the Recreation Soccer Coach will organize, conduct, participate in, and supervise soccer practices and games for elementary and middle school coed students. The Coach will collaborate with other Mission Oaks staff, San Juan Unified School District staff, contractors, vendors, and others to create an enriching and safe environment for youth athletes, ensuring the highest standards of safety, sportsmanship, and skill development This is a seasonal position.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Recreation Coach is expected to work effectively under minimal supervision. Work within a framework of standard District policies and procedures.
EXAMPLE OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
Responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following :
- Prepare and lead daily practice, keeping participants engaged.
- Manage inventory and orderliness of program equipment / supplies.
- Prepare the space for the program each day with all necessary supplies.
- Uphold behavior policies and safety procedures for all activities.
- Attend staff meetings, training, and workshops.
- Notify and report any problems or concerns of parents and / or children to the Recreation Coordinator.
- Market the program at the school to help recruit participants.
- Perform other program-related duties as assigned.

Preferred possession of a valid class C California Drivers license.
Current CPR and First Aid certifications are highly desired but not required.
