Group/Class: Group III, IV/Hourly, Non-Exempt
Reports to: Ski School Manager, Ski School Supervisors
Pay Range: $16.28 - $22.00/hr DOE and Certification
Status: Full or Part time, Seasonal
Age: 16 years or older as of Jan 1, 2025

JOB SUMMARY:
Promote and support the Central Purpose of the Mission Ridge and provide excellent guest service to all mountain guests. Teach skiing and/or snowboarding to children and adults relative to experience and qualifications.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS:
- Teach skiing or riding skills for designated days, nights and time periods set by Ski School guidelines.
- Provide all aspects of guest service to all area guests and serve as a role model for the Mission Ridge and the Mission Ridge Ski School
- Participate in mandatory and voluntary training to maintain the highest standard of performance and personal growth.
- Accept and take responsibility for all designated work assignments.
- Be familiar with and provide general mountain information to all guests.
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of teaching, snow sports products and procedures.
- Report any incidents to supervisors and complete appropriate forms accurately and promptly.
- Promote an atmosphere of support and cooperation with peers and all other Mission Ridge Mountain Departments.
- Work outside in a winter environment, which may be subject to harsh weather conditions.
- Use moderate physical exertion for lifting and moving equipment and/or students.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Current affiliation with PSIA (Professional Ski Instructors of America) or other recognized association.
- Teaching experience, degrees, certificates and other experience in the field of education.
- Early childhood education or pre-school experience.
- Prior experience working with, teaching or coaching groups of children.
- Minimum level 6 (intermediate skier or snowboarder) is required.
SKI SCHOOL HIRING PROCESS:
- Submit application with Mission Ridge.
- Receive invitation from Ski School to attend verbal or online interview screening.
- Attend required paid skiing/riding proficiency evaluation/hiring clinics.
- At the completion of on snow training, successful candidates will be invited to join the ski school staff.
