Job Description

Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) manages and operates the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) for the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). Our MISSION is to help ensure the security of the United States and its allies by providing high-hazard experimentation and incident response capabilities through operations, engineering, education, field, and integration services and by acting as environmental stewards to the Site's Cold War legacy. Responsibilities

The Health and Productivity group is looking for a high performing individual who can effectively work and assist with Health and Productivity Activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development of an annual operating plan for Health and Productivity activities in coordination with NNSS stakeholders / Working Group, OSIH Manager, ES&H Director and Prime Contracts approval.
  • Communicate with Working Group to increase employee engagement and assist with implementation and communication of initiatives and events / activities for satellite locations.
  • Establish relationships with all internal departments to increase involvement in wellness components.
  • Coordinate, plan and implement educational classes / presentations, wellness events, speakers, seminars, personal training, and fitness assessments that promote the wellness dimensions of Physical, Mental / Emotional, and Social.
  • Evaluate the Health and Wellness Program / Health and Productivity through statistical summaries of participant data and class attendance. Collect participant feedback and analyze the data for necessary adjustments to continuously improve the program.
  • Develop and implement metrics for H&P activities with specific risk reduction goals.
  • Monitors, evaluates and reports on the effectiveness of Health and Wellness Program / Health and Productivity program based on objective and measurable outcomes data and provides these reports to management on an annual basis at the completion of the Fiscal Year.
  • Manage incentive inventory and recipient reports.
  • Develop and implement appropriate Health and Wellness Program / Health and Productivity satisfaction surveys in order to monitor and improve the program based on the needs and desires of the M&O Contractor and employees.
  • Coordinate with onsite Health and Fitness Specialists, Safety Teams and Recordkeeper to identify activities / services to reduce injury / illnesses.
  • Coordinate and lead onsite fitness classes with the assistance of Health and Fitness Specialist.
  • Coordinate and lead speaking engagements, provide health and wellness education.
  • Create marketing material for upcoming events to include Monthly Newsletters, Upcoming Event Flyers, InSite articles.
  • Update Events calendar with planned Health & Productivity Events and manage employee registration for the events.
  • Support the development and implementation of Safety Culture improvements.
  • Assist and provide expertise with various Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) events throughout the site.
  • Awareness to ensure inclusion of employee health disparities when executing programs.
  • Flexible and agile with the ability to adjust programs as needed to meet M&O Contractor and Employee needs.
  • Focused with the ability to work under tight deadlines and stressful situations.
  • Culturally competent to work with diverse employees.
  • Perform other duties assigned by Management.
  • Qualifications

    Due to the nature of our work, US Citizenship is required for all positions.

  • Bachelor's degree in a business related field or equivalent training and experience.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience leading Wellness, 4 of which are in in fitness, nutrition, health promotions, exercise prescription, clinical population, kinesiology, or related experience preferred.
  • Hold a current fitness certification from recognized fitness organization (ex. ACSM, NASM, NSCA) preferred.
  • Experienced in assessing and correcting human movement patterns. Recognize postural distortions and assess risks associated.
  • Comfortable leading group wellness / fitness classes.
  • Experience in designing and implementing personal fitness programming for individual prescription.
  • Able to utilize independent judgment, creativity, and initiative to resolve problems and ensure that requirements are completed efficiently, on time, and are cost-effective.
  • Able to prioritize and schedule multiple activities of the division.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple activities in parallel and to deliver product features on time.
  • Excellent team building, mentoring, and leadership abilities.
  • Able to communicate with all types of people in a tactful, professional, influencing, motivating, and effective manner while screening and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Able to understand and remember complex data, policies, procedures, laws, regulations, terminology, schedules, personnel, and other details.
  • Able to deal with pressure of handling multiple tasks, complains, frequent interruptions, and time constraints.
  • Able to read / write / speak English.
  • Knowledge of basic math, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Familiar with software applications used in the position.
  • The primary work location will be at the Nevada National Security Site (located 64 miles northwest of Las Vegas, Nevada), as well as the North Las Vegas Facility).
  • The work scheduled will be 4 / 10s Monday through Thursday (subject to change). Due to H&P activities overtime and weekend work may be required.
  • Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain a HSPD-12 Personal Identity Verification credential under the Department of Energy Order 206.2, 'Identity, Credential, and Access Management,' and Supplemental Directive NNSA SD 206.2, 'Implementation of Personal Identity Verification for Uncleared Contractors.'

    Hourly salary range for this position is : $24.94 - $37.41.

    Starting salary is determined based on the position market value, the individual candidate education and experience and internal equity.
