Groomer to join our team!
Mill Creek Animal Clinic is a full-service veterinary facility that takes a small practice personal approach. Our amazing team is growing and we're looking to bring on another Receptionist! Previous veterinary experience is preferred, but we're willing to train.
Location: 12944 S LaGrange Rd, Palos Park, IL 60464
Shift Details: This is a full-time position (30 hours/week)
Compensation: $13.00 - $14.00/hour (based on experience)
What We Are Looking For: We are seeking an experienced Groomer to join our team! The groomer must supply their own tools, while the clinic will provide a motorized adjustable table and Grizzly dryer. Our grooming salon is designed for one groomer at a time. While we have a large client base, we’d love to welcome a groomer with a dedicated following. The ideal candidate will work independently and manage all client communications with professionalism.

Job Summary: The Groomer is a key member of Mission Veterinary Partners (MVP) hospital support team. Groomers form a crucial part of MVP, building lasting relationships with customers and providing quality care to pets. Groomers perform various grooming duties necessary to improve each pet’s hygiene and enhance their physical appearance. They bathe, brush, and dry pets, clean their teeth and ears, as well as trim their nails and hair/fur.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Maintain and uphold Core Values and Mission Statement of MVP.
- Admit pets to be groomed noting owner’s specific instructions, contact information and pick up time.
- Bathing, brushing, heavy lifting, shaving and scissor trimming of pets to be groomed.
- Ear cleaning, plucking, nail trimming, and expression of anal glands.
- Provide medicated (when instructed) and general cleansing, parasite control baths, pedicures, medicated dips (when instructed) and ear cleansing, as required for each pet. Perform all general maintenance of grooming room and yard; clean and disinfect cages, tubs, grooming tables, and yard at least once daily; vacuum floor; mop floor; empty trash; clean clipper blades, scissors, and brushes after use; perform monthly dryer and clipper maintenance.
Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Advanced knowledge in pet grooming & canine health.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Fluent in the written and verbal skills necessary to successfully perform the essential functions, duties, and responsibilities of the position.
- A minimum of 2 years of previous grooming experience is required.
