We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Network Engineer. This position is part of a team that is responsible for the overall coordination and control of all network services and provision of system support to IS staff.
Day-to Day-Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install, support and maintain hardware and software infrastructure according to best practices, including routers, aggregators, switches, Cisco wireless access points, and firewalls.
- Implementation, administration, and troubleshooting network infrastructure devices, including firewalls, routers, switches, wireless access points, and monitoring applications.
- Understanding and implementation of network traffic analysis, remote access methods and systems, stateful inspection firewalls, encryption, authentication and authorization technology.
- Perform preventive maintenance; manage backup and disaster recovery strategy; and implement network security according to departmental policy.
- Hands-on technical experience working with network technologies (IPSEC, SSL VPN, AnyConnect, SDWAN, etc.).
- Provide network and host-based security, incident response, firewall and VPN management/administration.
- Configuring network services in a fast-paced support environment as a member of a 24x7x365 network and/or security operations team.
- Creates and updates architectural documentation for network infrastructure.
- Research and test software/hardware for compatibility with existing or planned systems.
- Work as a Subject Matter Expert for projects as assigned. Subject Matter Expert responsibilities may include needs assessment, solution development, work with other IS teams, reporting and technical documentation.

Experience Requirements:
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in a network support role or a similar technical environment is preferred.
- Experience with configuring and maintaining network devices such as switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Familiarity with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools (e.g., SolarWinds network tools).
- Demonstrated experience in managing network security measures, including knowledge of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, data encryption, and other industry-standard techniques and practices.
Education Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Additional courses or relevant training in networking, systems, or similar fields will be considered an asset.
Certification Requirements:
- Industry certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or equivalent are a plus.
- Other certifications related to network security, systems, and cloud computing would be advantageous.
Salary : $110,000 - $120,000
