What are the responsibilities and job description for the VDC Engineer position at MissionXI?
MissionXI is currently recruiting for a (Senior) VDC Engineer to join a fast-growing general contractor in Houston, Texas.
Our client is an award-winning general contractor, specialised in major developments across core markets (such as Health Care, Oil & Gas, Education, Mixed-Use, Commercial and much more) whose VDC team has doubled since 2022.
They are hiring for experienced VDC experts to join their team in Houston to support the growing demand for design support across the South and South East.
What You'll Do:
- Manage the VDC/BIM coordination process between Trade Partners, Owners, Designers, and Subcontractors.
- Conduct constructability analysis, identify issues, suggest improvements, and support clash detection.
- Utilize 3D/4D/5D modeling, incorporating both time-based and cost-based BIM processes.
- Provide on-site BIM coordination support during the construction phase, including progress reporting and leading meetings.
What You'll Need:
- 2-7 years of experience in VDC/BIM, gained working for a construction company, contractor, or construction industry supplier.
- Proven experience managing VDC/BIM coordination on major construction projects.
- Expertise in constructability analysis and clash detection.
- Proficiency in 3D/4D/5D modeling and BIM processes.
- Experience supporting on-site BIM coordination during construction.
- Advanced skills in Revit, Navisworks, and related technologies.
