What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child Care Provider position at Mississippi Action for Progress, Inc?
Description: This position provides for quality early childhood learning experiences. Position will provide, plan for, implement and integrate child development activities for assigned children in such a manner that contributes to their growth and development in accordance with best practices for serving infants/toddlers and Head Start Performance Standards.
Location: Birmingham, Alabama Requirements:
- A minimum educational requirement of Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related area that includes a minimum of six (6) classes focusing on infant/toddler development.
- Two years of experience in preschool classroom with ability to adapt curriculum to meet the needs of all children including at-risk, special needs, gifted, and culturally diverse populations.
- Oral and written communication skills which facilitate and support positive feedback from parents and between staff at all operational levels. Ability to relate to clients from diverse populations.
- Strong computer skills to include: spreadsheets, databases, presentation and word processing.
- Employment contingent upon the results of the following:
- Successfully passing the Criminal History Registry
- Initial physical examination
- Negative TB screen
