Job Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to support the classroom staff in maintaining compliance in early childhood teaching strategies and classroom management, and offering one-on-one training and technical assistance as needed.
Duties
- Develops, conducts, or arranges training as needed, including volunteer training in the classroom.
- Provides guidance and oversight to staff through monitoring.
- Conducts strategies for identifying the professional development needs of the staff.
- With the staff representative, plans and coordinates center-based professional development opportunities, such as individual professional development plans and job competencies.
- Follows-up and extends staff development training.
- Collaborates with colleagues to construct exemplary lesson plans.
- Assists with the adoption and implementation of curriculum resources.
Requirements
- Master’s degree preferred in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development-CD or Elementary Education (6 classes hours in ECE or CD) and at least three years demonstrated related experience with age groups 8 weeks to 5 years through employment or practicum, in a pre-school educational environment or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or Elementary Education in 6 classes (18 hours) in ECE or CD and at least five years demonstrated related experience with 8 weeks to 5 years through employment or practicum in a pre-school environment.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills, internet, and email.
