What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Engineer position at Mississippi Silicon?
Mississippi Silicon is the first Silicon Metal plant built in the United States in over 40 years. We have over 200 team members focused on safely producing a quality product. The silicon metal produced in our facility is sold throughout the United States and used in a broad range of industries including aluminum, automotive, and chemical industries, solar cells, and semiconductors. Silicon metal is used in thousands of applications and its consumption in the United States and worldwide continues to increase. Solar panels, electronic chips, cell phones all utilize Silicon Metal.
Mississippi Silicon is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our maintenance staff at our plant in Burnsville, Mississippi.
Key Responsibilities:
· Daily walk throughs in plant identifying Electrical needs to minimize downtimes
· Ensuring safety policies and procedures are followed driving a positive safety culture
· Coordinating capital electrical project upgrades and contractor bids
· Short Circuit/ load flow analysis for proper breaker/fuse coordination
· Upgrade or new design installation design for electrical
· Preventative maintenance planning for all plant electrical equipment
· Critical spare parts for all electrical equipment
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
· Industrial experience a plus but will consider entry level
· Excellent written and communication skills
· Experience with high voltage, medium voltage and variable frequency drives
