What you'll do:
The DOC Internal Helpdesk is designed to help end users effectively use the tools available to them. It will be the first contact many customers make when needing assistance with various computer issues. A knowledge of DOC-specific business processes, computer software and applications is preferred. This position works with considerable independence, and will need to work together with other Helpdesk staff members to provide excellent customer service. This position will: help staff members with day-to-day use of DOC applications (like MOCIS and OPII); provide approved permissions to DOC applications; communicate routinely with a wide variety of staff members; document procedures and problem resolutions; assist with training and developing training material; as well as other related work as assigned.
All you need for success:
Intermediate knowledge of terminal/personal computer operating systems and software applications.
Intermediate knowledge of agency programs related to information collection, management and reporting.
Ability to train professional and clerical staff members in routine systems use.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to learn technical aspects of information technology systems and uses
Ability to follow technical instructions.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor, technical experts, and other employees.
Ability to periodically travel statewide or throughout an assigned region.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma and 0-2 years of information technology experience.
