General Function
The Instructor NT is a non-tenure track position with responsibilities to teach full-time and to provide appropriate service. The Instructor NT may participate in research or creative activities.
Description Of Primary Duties
We seek a candidate who can demonstrate a commitment to inclusive teaching practices and expertise in large undergraduate Life Sciences general education courses (both lecture and lab), upper-division Molecular Cell Biology laboratory courses, as well as other courses in the Cell and Molecular Biology Program. Typically, 12 contact hours will be assigned each fall and spring semester. Teaching responsibilities include instructing, advising, and supporting undergraduate students as well as providing access to high impact practices aimed at increasing student retention, persistence, and success. Candidates should provide service to the school, college, university, and community to fulfill the Public Affairs Mission.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
An earned terminal degree or the degree required for teaching in certain disciplines is required. Potential or demonstrated teaching ability is required. A willingness to serve the academic unit, college, and the University is required. The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required.

Additional Qualifications
- A master’s degree (or completed master’s course work and be ABT ) in cellular and molecular biology or closely related field .
- Ability to teach courses in large (great than 100 students) undergraduate Life Sciences general education courses, both lecture and lab upper-division Molecular Cell Biology laboratory in which graduate and undergrade students learn mammalian cell culturing, as well as other courses in the Cell and Molecular Biology Program
- Potential for, or evidence of, application of innovative, learner-centered pedagogy
- Ability or potential to mentor and support our student population
- Interest in developing knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds
