What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instructor, Biomedical Sciences (9 Month Appointment) position at Missouri State University?
Description of Primary Duties
The successful candidate will teach a 15 / 15 credit hour teaching load based on student demand for biomedical science courses. The successful candidate will also create curriculum for assigned courses, complete student learning assessment reports for each course taught, advise students, and liaise with per course and dual credit biomedical sciences faculty. The successful candidate is also expected to complete university and community service activities.
Position is grant funded and contingent upon continued funding. Minimum Acceptable Qualifications The minimum acceptable qualifications for the position of Instructor are prescribed in the Faculty Handbook. Additional Qualifications The successful candidate must have a Masters degree in Biomedical Sciences, or a related field, with at least 18 hours of graduate credit in Biomedical Sciences.Candidates must have experience teaching first and second year college biomedical science courses, including experience in setting up and conducting labs. Candidates must also demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and effective oral and written communication skills; have experience with a wide-range of instructional delivery systems; be familiar with student learning assessment processes; and demonstrate involvement in professional organizations and activities.
