MISSOURI VALLEY LINE CONSTRUCTORS APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING (MJATC) is an AJATC associated with the regional NECA and IBEW members to train outside electrical craft apprenticeships in the upper Midwest jurisdiction of ND, SD, MN, WI, IA, NE, & MO. The organization is dedicated to providing quality training and development opportunities for apprentices in the electrical industry.
Role Description
- This is a full-time on-site role for a Content Development Specialist at Missouri Valley JATC in Indianola, IA. The Content Development Specialist will be responsible for creating and developing content, instructional design, conducting research, and web content writing to support the apprenticeship training programs on site.
- Creating compelling headlines and body copy that will capture the attention of the target audience
- Producing well-researched content for publication online and in print
- Utilizing industry best practices and familiarity with the organization’s mission to inspire ideas and content
- Communicating and cooperating with a writing team, including a content editor, designers, and marketing professionals
- Following an editorial calendar, collaborating with other members of the content production team to ensure timely delivery of materials
- Developing content strategies aligned with short-term and long-term marketing targets
- Using search engine optimization (SEO) strategies in writing to maximize the online visibility of a website in search results
- Repurposing content for different mediums including social media and video
- Updating website content as needed
- Work with subject matter experts to build and design course content to serve
Qualifications
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in computer science, marketing, mass communication, or a related field.
- Experience in copywriting, graphic design, programming, or a related field may be advantageous.
- Strong working knowledge of content management software, including Asana, WordPress, Photoshop, and Flash.
- Good working knowledge of HTML and SEO.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, multitasking, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
