Position Summary
MIT Federal Credit Union (MIT FCU) is seeking a full-time Graphic Designer to join our Marketing team based in Lexington, MA. This candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining the visual identity of MIT FCU and participate in a collaborative process to develop an array of print and online marketing, advertising, and brand materials. This role is for an experienced hands-on designer who can provide leadership and instruction to an internal audience, vendors, and outside partners. This role will report directly into the Vice President of Marketing.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for creating and maintaining the visual identity of MIT FCU and participate in a collaborative process to develop an array of print and online marketing, advertising, and brand materials.
- Provide leadership and instruction to an internal audience, vendors, and outside partners.
- Must be well-versed in many facets of graphic design, including print production, digital printing, variable data, publication layout, web / email design, and more.
- Create a range of marketing materials for print (branding, postcards, flyers, publications, direct mailers, signage, etc.) and digital (website, landing pages, emails, PPC ads, video, etc.).
- Develop creative files according to print and digital specifications and effectively prepare them for a smooth production process.
- Produce high-quality design and web assets under tight timelines and according to internal specifications.
- Effectively communicate visual identity standards, best practices, and rationale for design choices.
- Accurately estimate time to complete projects and adhere to all project goals, budgeted hours, and deadlines.
- Provide ongoing project and relationship management.
- Provide design direction for the overall MIT FCU brand.
- Take an active role in supporting company sales and marketing efforts and participate in creative brainstorming to develop new concepts and processes to improve workflow.
- Research and obtain permission(s) for copyright materials where applicable.
- Collaborate with staff to integrate messaging while following creative briefs / direction and brand style guidelines to ensure visual consistency.
- Design digital and print solutions for integrated marketing efforts, including newsletters, emails, web banners, icons, web interfaces, online videos, mobile platforms, and other vehicles as needed.
- Clearly articulate conceptual approaches of design, and propose messaging themes to accompany design concepts.
- Participate in brainstorming, planning, and implementing overarching communications strategies.
- Stay up-to-date on best practices for digital display on web and mobile platforms, making changes as needed.
- Maintain an archive of completed print projects, photos, and media files.
