Mitchell·Casteel Catering is looking for a Staffing Coordinator and Event Manager in the Raleigh/Durham area of NC. This is a Dual Position. We are looking for a strong candidate to Event Manage part time and Coordinate Staffing part time. Together, this will offer a full time position.
The staffing coordinator would be responsible for scheduling all on and off site catering events.
We are looking for a competent Staffing Coordinator to facilitate a variety of tasks, namely scheduling staff for all off- and on-site events. You should also be able to ensure that the company follows all relevant laws with respect to employment.
As a Staffing Coordinator, you should be a great communicator and a great salesperson. You should be able to foster associations with both workers and external vendors. Your main objective should ensure that the organization's staffing requirements are met and employees work in a cordial, steady work environment.
Responsibilities
- Schedule and monitor all staffing needs of the company.
- Collaborate with staffing agencies to fill opportunities in a cost-effective way.
- Assist in candidate hiring and screening processes.
- Help in the preparation and execution of orientation and training plans.
- Create work schedules by allocating employees in positions and shifts.
- Accept the responsibilities of timekeeping and time-off requests.
- Work with payroll to ensure correct employee compensation and remuneration.
Requirements
- 2 years of work experience as a Staffing Coordinator
- Excellent experience in the planning and execution of HR plans.

EVENT MANAGER
Under the direction of the Event Director, the Event Manager is responsible for the overall organization and success of the event.
Prior to Event:
Event Manager may attend site inspections to meet with client/event representative.
Site Inspection:
1. Record all pertinent information per Preliminary Worksheet: address, directions, date of event, menu, servers, timeline, rentals, etc
2. Facility information: client parking, staff parking, accessibility, power, and garbage receptacles.
3. Outline job detail-map of guest tables, buffet, beverage, and kitchen.
Day of Event
Prior to Service:
Gather all relative items, to include service ware, and platters from designated storage areas. Ensure that the “Equipment Pull Sheets” reflect what is necessary via the menu. Add necessary items.
Coordinate all food items and beverages via chef/field chef and menu.
Discuss with chef/field chef proper presentation, assembly and serving temperature of food items.
At Event Location:
Supervise location staff, ensure two-way communication between Event Manager and client/event representative. Coordinate all food and beverage presentation and preparation in the absence of on-site field chef
Ensure food and beverages are served at the proper temperature.
Ensure food and beverages are displayed properly and appropriately garnished.
Ensure serving utensils, napkins, and all rentals are provided for guests and service requirements.
Ensure service staff attends to guests needs as required per MCE standards.
Event Location Cleaning:
Supervise all aspects of clean-up pertaining to kitchen, food display, beverage station, and guest areas.
Ensure event site is left better than how we found it.
Report all broken items to MCE owners/partners and when appropriate, client.
Ensure rentals are properly placed in original containers and placed per client specifications for event site inspection.
Ensure our service ware, serving utensils, and equipment is cleaned and cater wrapped or packaged for preventing breakage.
When necessary, supervise rental breakdown and storage.
**Finalize event with client walk-through or debriefing.
After Event:
Deliver all service ware, leftover food items, serving utensils, and equipment that belongs to Mitchell·Casteel back to commissary
Ensure proper storage of leftover food items.
Ensure event book has been completed and is in designated area.
**Lock-Up appropriate kitchen/office area.
Compensation is based on experience.
