Job Summary:
As a Route Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting our delivery drivers in efficiently and effectively navigating their assigned routes. The Starting Pay is $14.50 an Hour. You will work closely with the drivers to ensure that all deliveries are made in a timely and accurate manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist delivery drivers in plotting the most efficient routes for their deliveries.
- Keep track of delivery schedules and adjust routes as needed.
- Communicate with drivers and provide directions or guidance as needed.
- Assist drivers with navigating difficult areas by spotting trailers while backing into locations.
- Monitor traffic conditions and provide updates to drivers to help avoid delays.
- Assist with loading and unloading of delivery vehicles as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of delivery times, route changes, and any customer feedback.
- Provide excellent customer service and address any delivery-related issues or concerns.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with local roads and traffic patterns.
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle unforeseen circumstances.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record preferred but not required.
