Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Client Advocate to join our team. In this role, you will interact with clients and their families to support them while they are staying in our temporary shelter. This position plays a key role in ensuring a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment for all clients.
Responsibilities
- Manage the 24/7 hotline while on duty which includes providing immediate support, resources, and arranging the arrival of new clients.
- Provide client support and engagement as they navigate challenges.
- Facilitate a weekly support group session for clients, providing a safe space to discuss experiences, share coping strategies, and build community.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and progress in accordance with organizational policies.
- Monitor the shelter to ensure safety, cleanliness, and adherence to shelter policies and procedures.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to client advocacy.
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to remain calm, compassionate, and professional in potentially stressful or emotionally charged situations.
- Comfortable with a flexible, nontraditional work schedule, including evening hours.
- Previous relevant experience is a plus, but not required.
