The Strategic Account Manager oversees and maintains relationships within a portfolio of major clients, by identifying their unique needs and requirements in order to promote our company’s solutions and achieve mutual satisfaction. The Strategic Account Manager is responsible for growing business by developing strong customer relationships, owning a strategic plan for assigned accounts and sustaining growth to achieve long-term success. This position partners with the business development team to manage newly onboarded accounts, fill sales pipeline and identify new opportunities from existing accounts. This position reports to the Regional Sales Manager.
Essential Functions:
- Develops sales funnel for future growth opportunities with core strategic accounts
- Develop and maintain relationships with a portfolio of major clients to ensure they do not turn to competition
- Expand the relationships with existing customers by continuously proposing solutions that meet their objectives
- Serve as the link of communication between key customers and internal teams
- Resolve any issues and problems faced by customers and deal with complaints to maintain trust
- Prepare regular reports of progress and forecasts to internal and external stakeholders using key account metrics
- Actively and consistently keep records in CRM of post-sale customer interactions, opportunities, and quotes to help drive increased sales
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Experience Required:
- Minimum of 5 years of industry experience; managing key accounts with the proven ability to be a strategic account leader in a growing organization
- Experience working cross-functionally and achieving increased sales results
- Experience developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers
- Experience working with CRM and ERP tools
- Knowledge of Microsoft office suite

Education Required:
- BS/BA Degree and 5 years of related experience, will consider the additional applicable experience in lieu of a degree
- Valid driver’s license and have a driving record in good standing
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to remain at a stationary position 50% of the time
- Ability to move products weighing up to 50 pounds, including lifting, placing, pushing, and pulling
- Ability to travel domestically
Work Environment:
- This position has the ability to telecommute at home or an alternative location
