Title: IT Business Analyst III
Location: Southeastern Region (Hybrid: 3 Days Onsite per Week)
Description
The IT Business Analyst III will be a key contributor to the team, driving ideation, delivery, and implementation of impactful solutions. This role focuses on collaborating with business stakeholders to define project visions, prioritize customer value, and ensure requirements are clearly documented for development. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in business analysis, Agile methodologies, and effective communication with diverse stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
Work closely with business stakeholders to understand objectives and transform them into scoped and sized business changes.
Define and document the vision, objectives, and success criteria for projects, ensuring alignment with stakeholder needs.
Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Leads, and Technical Teams to write and elaborate user stories with clear acceptance criteria and business rules.
Requirements And Backlog Management
Establish a requirements management strategy covering elicitation, documentation, and approval processes.
Elicit and document functional and non-functional requirements in the form of epics, stories, wireframes, and business rules.
Build, prioritize, and maintain the project backlog, supporting the Business Lead/Product Owner in defining value and scope for releases and sprints.
Agile And Testing Support
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies such as stand-ups, demos, and sprint retrospectives.
Facilitate story reviews during sprint planning to ensure a common understanding of user stories and acceptance criteria.
Perform functional testing during sprints and write user acceptance test (UAT) scripts to facilitate UAT processes.
Analysis And Big Picture Thinking
Analyze new stakeholder requests and determine appropriate categorization (e.g., defect, new story, modification).
Maintain a holistic view of the project, ensuring components align to provide comprehensive solutions.
Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst.
Proficiency in Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid methodologies.
2-3 years of experience in Agile/Scrum, supporting Agile efforts.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse groups, executives, and subject matter experts.
Proficiency in business analysis techniques, including data modeling, feature decomposition, wireframes, and backlog management.
Desired Skills
Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) is a plus.
Scrum Master or Product Owner certification.
IIBA or CBAP Business Analyst certification.
Knowledge of the utility industry.
