Title: Production Support Engineer
Location: Onsite within the Southeastern Region
Description
The Production Support Engineer will be responsible for managing and supporting critical applications utilized by middle office, operations, and treasury teams. These applications contribute to profit and loss (P&L) calculations, risk management, and regulatory reporting. The role emphasizes ensuring a stable and resilient production environment, collaborating closely with development teams to enhance functionality, and equipping Level 1 (L1) support teams with tools, documentation, and knowledge for day-to-day issue resolution.
Responsibilities
Take ownership of the production environment, including infrastructure management.
Plan and execute application releases and deployments.
Manage incidents, troubleshoot problems, and ensure timely resolution.
Perform capacity planning and business continuity testing.
Build strong working relationships with development teams and end-users.
Foster a DevOps culture focused on client service and delivery.
Develop subject matter expertise and serve as a key point of contact.
Cross-train L1 teams and collaborate with other DevOps teams.
Required Skills
At least 5 years of experience supporting enterprise environments.
Strong technical skills in Python (preferred) or other scripting languages like PowerShell or Perl.
Proficiency in SQL with the ability to understand and run complex queries.
Experience supporting both Windows and Unix/Linux environments.
Exposure to AWS, CI/CD, RabbitMQ, and Kafka technologies.
Soft Skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills, tailored to various audiences.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
A sense of urgency and ownership for resolving issues.
Self-starter with the ability to learn new concepts and technologies quickly.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
