We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Process Engineering Manager, based out of our Sterling Heights, Michigan location. We are seeking a strong leader of people and process to join our team!
The Role:
Leads the Process Engineering and Manufacturing Systems Teams
Leads the design and implementation of manufacturing processes in molding, assembly, paint, and sequencing
Works within Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) to understand broadcast and sequencing data coming from the customer
Lead continuous improvement of process for Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery through internal PCR and change alert system
Manage and implement all product engineering changes and/or level changes and works cross functionally to resolve engineering or other related problems within the plant
Works directly with customers and internal quality department ensuring that the PPAP is carried out timely and per customer requirements
Communicates effectively with suppliers and internal program managers to guarantee that all incoming products, packaging, tooling and assembly fixtures meets production and customer requirements
Design and develop finished goods packaging in conjunction with customer and internal production/quality departments
Works with other Mitchell Plant PE teams and implements best practices at Sterling Heights
Works with Program Managers and Accounting teams to establish new BOM for new projects and modify BOM’s for any changes to the existing processes
Our Ideal Candidate:
Has 5 years in automotive, plastics experience; 3 years in Manager/Leadership role
Has an Engineering Degree (Mechanical preferred)
Has a strong understanding of Injection Molding, Tooling, Assembly Equipment, and Paint Process
Has extensive knowledge and ability to understand specific product and process requirements, product and tooling developments, and APQP requirements
Experience in MES software (Sequencing) preferred
Can Develop, Drive and Teach Production Engineering Staff
Possesses an excellent work ethic: Highly self-motivated, ability to multitask and team work
Is creative and forward thinking
