Job Summary
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated teaching assistant for our nclusion classrooms to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in early childhood development and a genuine love for working with children. As a teaching assistant, you will play a crucial role in fostering the social, emotional, and cognitive development of our students, ensuring they are well-prepared for their educational journey ahead.
Responsibilities
- Assist students with daily tasks, such as using the bathroom, eating, and dressing
- Provide one-on-one support to students in the classroom or in small groups
- Help with classroom management, including maintaining a clean and organized environmen
- Assist with implementing lesson plans and activities to support students' educational goals
- Work closely with teachers to implement and collect data on individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt instructional materials to meet the needs of students with autism and developmental disabilities
- Provide behavioral support and strategies to help students manage their emotions and behaviors
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other school staff to ensure consistency and progress
- Assist with supervising students during recess, lunch, and other activities
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
Experience
- Experience working with young children with autism and/or developmental disabilities
- Experience with classroom management
- Familiarity with preschool curriculum and best practices
- Experience in the preschool setting
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.50 per hour
