Role Description
This full-time Litigation Attorney role at Mitchell & Simopoulos, PLLC in Richmond, VA is responsible for representing healthcare providers and physicians in medical malpractice lawsuits and board investigations. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrate excellent research and analytical skills, and possess the ability to manage complex cases.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and licensed to practice law in Virginia
- 0-5 years of litigation experience; healthcare litigation or medical malpractice defense experience preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage cases and meet critical deadlines and court dates
- Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to providing the highest level of client service
- Experience in state and federal courts in Virginia
- Experience with taking depositions, conducting oral arguments, and presenting evidence in court
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is preferred
