Silver State Schools Credit Union ($1.24 billion) is looking for a Vice President/Controller in Las Vegas, NV. The position will report to the Senior Vice President/Chief Financial Officer and will substantially contribute to the strategic leadership of the organization. Silver State Schools Credit Union has a deeply rooted tie to its community with membership comprised of the wider educational system throughout Southern Nevada.
As a leader, the Vice President/Controller directs the development, implementation, and maintenance of accounting practices that result in providing a comprehensive Accounting system. They also ensure that all accounting records, policies, and procedures are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. This position will perform a variety of professional accounting duties including preparation of Annual Budget for supervised departments, controlling the Accounting records and maintaining and preparing a variety of financial reports and analyses to assist Executive Leadership in making prudent financial decisions. They will be called upon to provide training for other staff members in the use of data, statistics, performance improvement tools and problem-solving processes. Experience with Jack Henry’s Symitar Episys Core Banking System a plus.

• Oversee the External Audit of the Financial StatementsPreparation of ALCO reports
• Preparation of ALCO reports
• FRB and FHLB, Preparation with Liquidity Management
• ESI (Excess Share Insurance) Preparation & Reporting
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related discipline and work experience of at least 7-10 years in a senior management experience with a financial institution of a similar or larger size. A strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), along with an ability to communicate verbally and in writing with others is essential.
