What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Aid - Assistant Director position at Mitchell Technical College?
Mitchell Technical College is seeking an Assistant Director of Financial Aid. This is a full-time position and will tentatively being May 1, 2025.
The Assistant Director will have oversight over Federal Work-Study Program and assist the Financial Aid Director with financial aid presentations for internal/external constituencies, financial aid counseling for students and parents, administering various institutional, state, and federal aid programs, and processing invoices to third parties for educational expenses of students.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- AAS degree required from an accredited, degree granting institution. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Three years previous experience in higher education, preferably in Financial Aid.
- Knowledge of and experience with state and federal financial aid programs.
- Pass a state and federal criminal background check.
Preferred Skills:
- Must be able to work independently and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills required.
- Demonstrated positive communication and public speaking skills.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Previous experience working with PowerFAIDs and/or Jenzabar EX is preferred.

Annual Security Report/Campus Security Crime Statistics
The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act requires that the college’s Annual Security and Fire Safety Report which includes crime statistics be made available to prospective employees and prospective students upon request. Mitchell Tech’s Annual Security and Fire Safety Report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported Clery crimes that occurred on campus and on public property within or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. The report also includes institutional policies concerning campus safety and security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault prevention and response, timely warnings, emergency response, and other matters.
