Position Overview:
This position is responsible for greeting clients and other visitors to the firm and directing them to the appropriate attorney or staff member. The receptionist is also responsible for answering and routing incoming telephone calls through the switchboard. Responsibilities have been added to this position to provide versatility.
This position functions under the general supervision of the Administrative Director. Working contacts include all attorneys and staff, clients, vendors, etc.
Principal Duties:
Principal duties of this position include the following:
- Greeting and directing clients and other visitors to the firm.
- Answering and routing all incoming calls through the switchboard.
- Scheduling use of conference rooms.
- Maintaining a log of appointments and activities for the firm and preparing a monthly calendar of these events for firm-wide distribution.
- Performing routine clerical duties, e.g., typing labels, envelopes, etc.; selling postage stamps; logging all incoming deliveries; etc.
- Performing other duties as required.
Qualifications
The minimum qualifications for this position include a high school diploma and at least one year of previous experience as a receptionist/switchboard operator. A typing speed of 40 wpm and the ability to operate other standard office equipment are also required.
