A Set Up Technician in Tacoma, WA, is available at Milgard Windows and Doors. You are a crucial part of the manufacturing process as you are directly responsible for locating, staging, and installing Vinyl extrusion tools in compliance with the production schedule. The Extrusion team relies heavily on you to execute their priorities for the Extrusion team to meet our business demands.
This position requires 12-hour shifts with a 600 a.m. start time and a rotating schedule. The hourly compensation range is $30.00 to $33.60, depending on experience.

- Install clean tooling to the production lines as needed per the schedule. Stage tooling, hang dies, and install calibration, tank plates, and puller pads.
- Use carts and lifts to collect all tooling needed. Check and verify all are available including the correct tanks and any other auxiliary equipment needed for the planned run.
- Store, in an organized fashion, all clean tooling for the next required time. Replace faulty hoses, and connectors online and tooling, prior to production startups.
- Develop to be proficient in setups, and teardowns for test runs and assist in tool cleanings, calibration, and dies.
- Creates and executes MPS plans, meets MPS commitments, and works within the guidelines of MPS; reflects Milgard’s business values and the Milgard philosophy in all business interactions.
- Incorporates Milgard’s vision and values into day-to-day activities and behaviors; guides and motivates others to remain committed to the Milgard philosophy.
- Adheres to all facets of safety policies and procedures.
- Completion of MOD 3 or above or demonstrated two years of experience with a mechanical background is required.
- Compute basic math problems to include fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Good hand-eye coordination and the ability to discern colors.
- Ability to work in and promote a team environment.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
- Prolonged standing and repetitive motions, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling.

- Overtime may be required, including some weekends.
