SUMMARY:

The Supervisor/Manager, ETRM Applications provides business and technical support to Allegro ETRM system and other applications relative to the trading organization. This role engages with Trading, Scheduling, Risk Management, Settlements and Accounting departments, as well as external vendors and consultants. This role leads the ETRM Application Team in the completion of system enhancements and projects within Allegro. This role also designs solutions through technical and business acumen to meet needs of the trading organization. This position is responsible for adhering to IT Change Management policy and Risk Management policy, practices and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:

  • Supervise team of trading support analyst(s), respond to escalated inquiries, and prioritize and assign tasks to ensure targets are met. Train ETRM application support analyst(s) and develop them by providing experiential growth opportunities and regular feedback.
  • Timely resolve issues in energy trading and risk management systems across commodities of power, gas, and crude through the support of Allegro and integrations with NetSuite, Adapt2, Globalview, ICE, and CME
  • Maintain user support, vendor communications, installations, testing, documentation, diagnosis, resolution of problems, monitoring, alerting, troubleshooting, patching, upgrading, custom report creation, and performance turning of the applications systems.
  • Responsible for managing the lifecycle of the trading application from selection, implementation, project execution, continuous improvement to decommission.
  • Work closely with Commercial, Scheduling, Risk Management, Settlements and Accounting teams to prioritize, investigate, and troubleshoot application and data issues.
  • Manage issues with software vendors, and proactively communicate with both vendors and users to drive tasks to completion within approved budget.
  • Follow change management policies and procedures related to Allegro
  • Ensure technical manuals are updated, perform database refreshes, coding, testing and implementation processes.
  • Ensure tracking and management of ETRM related help desk tickets and communicate status at weekly scrum meetings.
  • Ensure reporting of metric data regarding tickets, resolution, issues, and project status for monthly management reports.
  • Stay up to date on emerging industrial trends, applications, standards, and databases and provide recommendations about future planning and implementation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Highly motivated, self-starter with ability to work independently with little to no supervision.

  • Excellent understanding of trading concepts relative to gas, power, crude trading, scheduling, operations, risk management, settlements and accounting.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, high energy trading environment.
  • Possess refined interpersonal verbal and written communication skills, including writing and telephone communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team with the goal of enabling the business as the top priority.
  • Allegro System Certification a plus

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field preferred or equivalent related work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an energy trading company
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with Allegro architecture (front, middle, back office modules), Right Angle, Endur, or similar top-tier ETRM system with experience implementing enhancements, patches and/or upgrades. Experience in Allegro highly preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience managing team and projects.
  • Highly proficient in VBA, SQL and/or C#

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Fluent verbal and written skills in English.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. Physical demands include:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and may need to routinely move around to communicate with different groups
