- Conducting research to develop new and improved processes for manufacturing
- Establishing safety procedures for individuals working with dangerous chemicals
- Designing and planning equipment layout
- Conducting tests and monitoring the process performance throughout production
- Troubleshooting problems associated with manufacturing processes
- Evaluating processes and equipment to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations
- Provides guidance and day to day supervision for project work of associates in the team.
- May lead multiple teams including kitchen and packaging
- Must work effectively with the Operations team..
- Interfaces frequently with various internal and external groups within industry.
- Demonstrate and accomplish cost savings
- Identify, evaluate, and develop detailed proposals for breakthrough new food processing technology that can be applied with or across product categories.
- Initiate ideas for and lead the design of manufacturing processes for new products.
- Develop the tools and methodology to effectively survey the food industry and identify emerging food process innovations that Mitty's should consider in order to gain a competitive advantage.
- Determines requirements for and then prepares thorough and accurate process specifications, designs and conducts experiments to set specifications.
- Ensures the work environment is sanitary, safe, and orderly. Demonstrates Integrity, Teamwork, Results, Passion, and Positive Attitude
- Lead Mitty's through the SQF, Third Party Audits and be the point of contact.
- Work with any hired Consultant on SQF and HACCP, maintain SOPs
- Lead process change, utilization. Put in place an efficient batching system.
- Implements methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities including restructuring job duties, reorganizing work flow, relocating workstations and equipment, technology and purchase of equipment.
- Perform the following studies to develop standards for process changes, new opportunity or product specifications changes.
- Time studies for labor standards
- Yield and material standards, packaging standards for film and ingredients.
- Assist with new product development
- Provide training for all employees.

- Strong knowledge of quality systems, including quality management principles and practices
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
Education:
- High School Diploma required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 5-8 years experience in food manufacturing and management.
- HACCP/USDA/SQF experience required.
- LEAN manufacturing a plus
- RCA skills
- Microsoft office competency
