Job Summary
The Americas Risk Management unit is responsible for monitoring and evaluating risks across a number of categories within Mizuho's U.S. Operations, keeping them contained within management's risk framework by implementing policies and procedures to minimize losses and improve efficiency. Mizuho seeks a highly motivated individual to join our team as an AVP in our Risk Engineering group. In this position, you will be reporting to the Head of Risk Engineering and be a part of the overall Risk Platform Management team.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Head of Risk Engineering to manage daily BAU functions, which include VaR and FRTB production support, VaR back-testing monitoring, SA-CCR data integrity monitoring, covered position attestations, regulatory submissions, and maintaining documentation of all production issues.
- Coordinate the resolution of daily BAU production issues and regularly interface with risk managers, the integration team, and IT to develop strategic solutions.
- Conduct periodic reviews of the Risk Engineering team's standards, handbooks, and process flows.
- Review the existing suite of VaR and FRTB data integrity checks and identify and implement additional checks / recons to contribute to market risk data completeness efforts.
- Contribute to risk infrastructure improvement projects along with Head of Risk Engineering, which include drafting test cases, preforming UAT, and addressing IT communications.
Qualifications
The expected base salary ranges from $127,500 - $180,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
