Job Description
The Strategic Buyer will be responsible for sourcing components, parts and raw materials for an assigned category, maintaining and improving relationships with existing suppliers, negotiating pricing, payment terms and contracts, ordering parts from established suppliers based on production forecasts, reviewing open order reports and working with suppliers to ensure product and materials will be available for production schedules, adapting to changing procurement responsibilities in a fast-paced environment, working with supplier quality analysts to audit, develop and coach the supplier base, tracking and entering required information into the organization's ERP system, working within cross-functional teams to improve procurement strategy and find cost savings, making decisions based on data and improving reporting strategy, conducting daily troubleshooting on inventory issues, supporting the manufacturing site and assisting with quality issues, and performing other duties as delegated by management.
