Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Purchasing Agent to manage the end-to-end procurement process, vendor negotiations, inventory tracking, and supplier relationship management. This role plays a critical part in ensuring material availability, cost control, and operational continuity for our production and project teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and evaluate suppliers based on project and operational needs.
- Negotiate the best possible prices, payment terms, freight charges, and part options for all purchases.
- Verify purchase requisitions for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with company requirements.
- Issue and manage purchase orders using the ERP system for both plants and project needs.
- Conduct three-party price comparisons and supplier certifications according to company procedures.
- Review historical pricing records and quotations to identify hidden costs and track findings.
- Follow up with suppliers on overdue orders based on the open order and purchasing assistant reports.
- Proactively advise production and project teams on part availability, delays, and expected delivery dates.
- Track and manage logistics schedules to ensure timely material delivery and resolve shipment issues.
- Watch the market for supply and demand fluctuations, price changes, and material availability trends.
- Conduct regular market research to identify new suppliers, distributors, and sourcing channels.
- Maintain positive long-term relationships with vendors and distributors.
- Stay updated on industry pricing trends, supply chain risks, and procurement best practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
- 2 years of purchasing/procurement experience, preferably in manufacturing, industrial, or project-based industries.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with inventory management, logistics coordination, and vendor evaluation practices.
- Bilingual is a plus.
