What are the responsibilities and job description for the Band Instrument Repair Technician position at MK Music Repair?
MK Music Repair is currently seeking a full-time Band Instrument Repair Technician to join our repair team. Our repair shop plays a vital role in helping students, parents, and educators keep their instruments in top shape, and I’d love for you to be a part of our team! If you have experience in band instrument repair or a desire to learn, I’d love to speak with you!
This is a 40 Hour per week position Monday through Friday. Eventually the employee would spend at least one day a week travelling to schools but not right away.
I would prefer an entry level employee that I would mentor. Ideally I would like to mentor for a few years and then sell the shop to the employee.
MK Music Repair was started in 2000 and It has grown to service 2 local music stores and approximately 40 schools weekly.
As a Band Instrument Repair Technician, you will:
- Performing high-quality maintenance and repair service on brass, woodwind and percussion instruments, including rental instruments for Tone Music and Waseca Music plus customer/school-owned instruments of student to professional quality.
- Maintain company equipment in good condition and a clean workspace.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
- Recent graduate from a band instrument repair program or at least 2 years of hands-on instrument repair experience.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Qualifications:
- Successful completion of an on-site bench test
- Basic proficiency in computer applications
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadline
- Be able to "think outside the box".
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
