Our client in Alabama is seeking an experienced and results-driven Purchasing Manager to lead their procurement and sales operations. This position is primarily focused on strategic purchasing within the automotive industry, with additional oversight of sales functions. The ideal candidate will have a proven background in procurement leadership, strong negotiation skills, and a keen ability to drive cost efficiencies while ensuring high-quality sourcing.

Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure optimal pricing and quality for goods and services.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and outsourcing partners to ensure reliability and consistent product quality.
- Develop and manage contracts with vendors and customers, ensuring all agreements align with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor market trends, analyze cost data, and drive negotiations to enhance cost savings while maintaining healthy profit margins.
- Oversee sales operations by analyzing market trends, identifying customer demands, and developing strategic sales plans to expand business opportunities.
- Manage and mentor a team of seven purchasing professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and professional development.
- Work closely with the sales representative assigned to the parent company to ensure alignment with corporate goals and objectives.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a purchasing or procurement department, within the automotive industry required.
- Demonstrated expertise in supplier negotiations, cost reduction strategies, and contract management.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles and automotive industry customs.
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster supplier relationships and internal team collaboration.
- Leadership and team development capabilities, with a proven track record of managing and mentoring teams.
