JOB SUMMARY: The main responsibilities for the position are: Responsible for dispatching custom application orders and assist with scheduling farm deliveries. Help coordinate the delivery of crop protection, crop nutrients, and seed to customers. Schedule all custom application & assist with farm deliveries while managing customer expectations. Complete special projects as assigned by Central Dispatch Manager.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven management skills.
- Current knowledge of applicable OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
- Good working knowledge of seeds, chemicals, and fertilizer products.
- Planning, Coordinating, Communication, Supervisory, and Training skills.
- Organization and Analytical skills.
- Custom 1A Applicator’s License.
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Computer and data entry skills.
- Ability to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
- Ability to handle emotional customers and resolve complaints.
- Frequently lift or move 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move 100 pounds.
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule with longer hours seasonally.
- Ability to handle a fast-paced environment with multiple activities at the same time.
- Problem solving skills and ability to drive efficiencies.
Requirements
- Oversee scheduling of application rigs, trucks and trailers; timeliness of deliveries; resolving of customer complaints in a timely manner.
- Make agronomic recommendations to customers using best practice decisions for the grower within the label requirements.
- Oversee the compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies (DOT, OSHA, EPA).
- Schedule all custom application & assist with scheduling farm deliveries (seed, crop protection, crop nutrient) to customers in a manner which exceeds customer expectations and improves company efficiency.
- Maintain knowledge of all government regulations that affect your position.
- Make recommendations as to the quality and quantity of delivery equipment.
- Be the backup for the Truck Dispatch Manager.
- Prepare and operate within budgets for all areas of responsibility.
- Maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork and a favorable image of Mid Kansas Coop.
- Work directly with Field Marketers assigned to your territory.
- Follow and support the safety policies of Mid Kansas Coop.
- Attend training classes assigned by your manager.
- Complete special projects assigned by your manager.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:
Eye protection is required in restricted areas. Appropriate clothing required when handling crop protection products.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
A Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of equivalent experience is required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Job involves work inside a climate-controlled office atmosphere and outside in hot and cold weather.
