Application Dispatcher

JOB SUMMARY: The main responsibilities for the position are: Responsible for dispatching custom application orders and assist with scheduling farm deliveries. Help coordinate the delivery of crop protection, crop nutrients, and seed to customers. Schedule all custom application & assist with farm deliveries while managing customer expectations. Complete special projects as assigned by Central Dispatch Manager.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Proven management skills.
2. Current knowledge of applicable OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
3. Good working knowledge of seeds, chemicals, and fertilizer products.
4. Planning, Coordinating, Communication, Supervisory, and Training skills.
5. Organization and Analytical skills.
6. Custom 1A Applicator’s License.
7. Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
8. Computer and data entry skills.
9. Ability to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
10. Ability to handle emotional customers and resolve complaints.
11. Frequently lift or move 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move 100 pounds.
12. Ability to work a flexible work schedule with longer hours seasonally.
13. Ability to handle a fast-paced environment with multiple activities at the same time.
14. Problem solving skills and ability to drive efficiencies.

Requirements

1. Oversee scheduling of application rigs, trucks and trailers; timeliness of deliveries; resolving of customer complaints in a timely manner. 
2. Make agronomic recommendations to customers using best practice decisions for the grower within the label requirements.
3. Oversee the compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies (DOT, OSHA, EPA).
4. Schedule all custom application & assist with scheduling farm deliveries (seed, crop protection, crop nutrient) to customers in a manner which exceeds customer expectations and improves company efficiency.
5. Maintain knowledge of all government regulations that affect your position.  
6. Make recommendations as to the quality and quantity of delivery equipment.
7. Be the backup for the Truck Dispatch Manager.
8. Prepare and operate within budgets for all areas of responsibility.
9. Maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork and a favorable image of Mid Kansas Coop.
10. Work directly with Field Marketers assigned to your territory. 
11. Follow and support the safety policies of Mid Kansas Coop.
12. Attend training classes assigned by your manager.
13. Complete special projects assigned by your manager.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:

Eye protection is required in restricted areas. Appropriate clothing required when handling crop protection products.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

A Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of equivalent experience is required.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Job involves work inside a climate-controlled office atmosphere and outside in hot and cold weather.
