Quickly moving into other industries, we are a fast-paced and agile company looking for a best-in-class Director of Training and Development willing to roll up their sleeves and exude a passion for the field!

As part of this role, The Director of Training and Development will be responsible for designing, implementing, and scaling comprehensive training programs across several branches nationwide. These programs will support the career progression of employees from apprentice to journey worker, as well as foster the growth of project management and leadership skills. This role will require strategic planning, organizational development, and a hands-on approach to ensure training aligns with the company’s long-term growth objectives. 

What you'll do…

  • Apprenticeship Program Expansion:
    • Oversee the current apprenticeship programs in the electrical sector.
    • Design and implement additional apprenticeship programs for other trades and areas within the organization
    • Collaborate with industry bodies and educational institutions to ensure training meets regulatory and certification requirements
  • Leadership and Project Management Training:
    • Develop leadership development programs that foster growth at every level, from emerging leaders to senior management
    • Build a project management training curriculum that equips employees with essential skills for managing projects of varying complexity
  • Organizational Structure & Team Leadership:
    • Define and implement a scalable organizational structure for the training and development team
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a training team to deliver high-quality training experiences
  • Training Platform Development:
    • Select and implement a learning management system (LMS) to support the delivery and tracking of training programs
    • Leverage technology to create blended learning experiences, including in-person, online, and on-the-job training
  • Strategic Growth Initiatives:
    • Partner with leadership to understand business growth goals and align training initiatives with talent development needs
    • Establish KPIs and metrics to measure the effectiveness of training programs and ensure alignment with business objectives
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
    • Work closely with HR, Operations, and other departments to identify skill gaps and prioritize training needs
    • Foster relationships with external training providers and professional associations to ensure the company remains competitive in workforce development

What you'll need to succeed…

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required (e.g., Human Resources, Business) or combination of relevant experience
  • 5 years of progressive experience developing training programs
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and managing multiple stakeholders
  • Strong communication tools and ability to collaborate with SMEs and Department Leadership
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing training programs, particularly in the electrical or skilled trades sectors
  • Expertise in apprenticeship program development/management and leadership/project management training
  • Strong leadership and team management experience
  • Familiarity with learning management systems and training platforms
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills
  • Experience in scaling organizations preferred
  • Training and development, or instructional design certifications a plus
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional methodologies a plus

The base pay range for this position is $160,000 to $185,000 per year. Please note that the compensation range reflects the base pay only and does not include benefits, or bonuses this role may be eligible to receive. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by bona fide factors such as geographic work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
