XS Telecom is the specialty services division of MKD Electric. We are based in the DC region, XS Telecom is one of the nation’s leading cabling contractors and providers of data system installation services. We serve the public sector and small to large enterprises. For over 12 years, we have designed, built, installed, and maintained our clients’ systems, projects, and facilities with a wide range of service offerings. We focus on safety, value, and quality as well as building and maintaining lasting relationships with a variety of national clients in data centers and commercial offices. Quickly moving into other industries, we are a fast-paced and agile company looking for a best-in-class Security Installer willing to roll up their sleeves and exude a passion for the field.
What you'll do…
- Install high-security access control systems, including security doors, hand scan readers, and security cameras.
- Terminate access control cables to various security panels, ensuring proper functionality and system integrity.
- Skilled in bending and installing conduit for secure and professional cable routing.
- Learn and execute cage builds (secure enclosures within data centers) and adapt to other industry-specific needs.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area while adhering to all safety protocols.
- Deliver excellent customer service through collaboration with clients and team members.
- Crosstrain on projects like data center cage builds, overhead ladder rack and fiber tray installation, and backbone/horizontal copper and fiber cabling.
- Flexible and available for travel, including weekends and holidays, at a moment's notice.
What you'll need to succeed…
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in security system installation (data center experience is a plus).
- Skilled in bending and professionally installing conduit.
- Solid understanding of low-voltage electrical systems.
- In-depth knowledge of access control systems and their components.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality work.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with data center cage builds preferred.
- Certifications in security system installation preferred.
- AMAG certifications preferred.
