Undergraduate Internship Program Overview-
MKS Instruments is seeking an exceptional Data Analysis Engineer Intern to join the team. If you are an exceptional Math, Statistics, Physics or Chemistry student with a strong interest in multidisciplinary systems, data analysis and product testing, we are looking for you! You will work in a Development Engineering department supporting the design and testing of new products, doing data analysis, and working with multidisciplinary systems. MKS Instruments is the world’s leader in vacuum and pressure measurement instrumentation, supplying precision technologies to applications in semiconductor manufacturing and analytical instrumentation.

Hourly Pay Range: $23.00 to $25.00 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.
Benefits: MKS offers a benefits package for interns/co-ops working at least 20 hours per week, including 11 paid holidays, sick time, and 15 paid vacation days accrued on a biweekly basis

- Summer 2025, June to August, Undergraduate internship, within a functional area of MKS Instruments that provides students a comprehensive and engaging experience from before your program starts to after the program ends.
- 40 hours a week for the Summer 2025
- Meaningful work and project assignments, such as: testing motion control products, etc., in a research lab, and working with controllers- putting electrical and mechanical pieces together, etc.
- Networking opportunities with peers and executives
- Exposure to different divisions of the business

You Will Make An Impact By
- Construct, debug, and test precision vacuum measurement instrumentation.
- Work alongside Principal Engineers to understand issues and enhance performance of precision systems.
- Design, debug, and implement new automated and manual vacuum test systems
- Analyze data using moder statistical methods
- Work with low-noise analog electronics, embedded controllers, precision sensors, and vacuum control systems (sensors, pumps, valves, automated controls).
- Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Math, Statistics, Physics or Chemistry or relevant majors
- Ability to work 40 hours a week in the Summer 2025
- Interest in learning new and exciting technical skills
- A strong interest in multidisciplinary systems, product testing and statistical methods
- Good data analysis skills
- Good problem-solving skills
- Excellent math skills
- Programming in Python or LabView preferred
- Advanced problem-solving skills
- Work with a team or independently with direction
