We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager Intern to join our team. In this role, you will support successful delivery of projects, programs and governance processes. This position offers the opportunity to gain deeper expertise in project management methodologies, contribute to issue resolution, and take ownership of a small-scale project. You will make an impact by:
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of governance frameworks, policies, and best practices across programs and portfolios as needed.
- Support the root cause analysis of issues and document remediation options, including trade-offs.
- Assist in communicating issue resolution decisions effectively to stakeholders
- Develop an understanding of management tools and processes.
- Provide hands-on support in reporting and tracking.
- Assist in defining project schedules, scopes, and budgets in collaboration with senior project managers.
- Ensure tracking of project attributes in compliance with governance timeframes.
- Utilize MKS IT tools and processes for efficient project attribute tracking and reporting.
- Prepare and present updates, status reports, and metrics to key stakeholders.
- Take ownership of a small project, driving them independently while ensuring adherence to defined scope, timeline, and budget constraints.
- Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business Administration, or a related field, or 4 years of equivalent job-related experience
- Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., ServiceNow, Microsoft Project, Jira, or similar).
- Familiarity with budget management systems and governance processes.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with an ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on clarity and stakeholder engagement.
- Adaptability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with shifting priorities.
- This is a hybrid position. Candidates must live within a commutable distance to Andover, MA. Unfortunately, relocation assistance will not be provided.
