The Opportunity:
Our client, a multidisciplinary privately owned consulting firm is seeking a full-time Professional Land Development Engineer to join their Civil Engineering team in Glassboro, NJ.
What You'll Be Doing:
- As a registered PE (Professional Engineer) you will work independently on civil engineering components of multidisciplinary projects.
- You'll collaborate with a team of geotechnical engineers, architects, landscape architects, structural engineers, surveyors, ecologists, and other professionals. Your projects will primarily focus on land development, including site planning and subdivisions.
- Conducting hydrologic evaluations, site grading, roadway grading, and ensuring ADA compliance.
- Designing stormwater management systems, sanitary sewer conveyance systems (gravity and pressure), potable water systems, lighting, soil erosion and sediment control, landscaping, and septic systems.
- Preparing construction specifications.
- Participating in client meetings and maintaining direct contact with clients.
- Preparing permit applications for local, state, and federal permits.
- Attending and presenting projects at meetings, including Planning and Zoning Boards and meetings with permitting agencies.
- Assisting in developing scopes of work and project estimates.
- Providing oversight or periodic supervision of construction projects and offering technical support for clients.
What You'll Need to Be Successful:
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in civil engineering.
- Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of New Jersey, with a willingness to obtain licenses in other states of practice.
- 5 years of experience
- Experience with stormwater management design.
- Proficiency in site grading, roadway grading, ADA compliance, design of storm drain systems, design of sanitary conveyance systems (gravity and pressure), and municipal water systems.
- Proficiency in preparing cost estimates and specifications.
- Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and ordinances.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, HydroCAD or Hydrology Studio Suite, and other civil design-related software.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
