Key Responsibilities:
This role is accountable for managing fleet asset accounting and reconciliations, assisting with balance sheet reconciliations, performing journal entries, conducting bank reconciliations, and aiding in the preparation of various monthly and quarterly reports for corporate as well as management custom reports.
This position is located in an office setting, with potential future growth opportunities to a controller role. The incumbent reports directly to the controller.
Main Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Accounts Payable Manager to set up new vendors.
- Establish and maintain new jobs within the ERP system, including updating job change orders.
- Perform bank reconciliations for assigned accounts.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
- Execute journal entries as part of the month-end closing process for various transactions.
- Conduct a thorough review of capital expenses in the general ledger, incorporating acquisitions and dispositions, in conjunction with the CFO, Controller, and Fleet Manager, utilizing the TDS (in-house equipment workflow), CPS (Ecosys Capital Budget Planning Software), JD Edwards fixed asset system, and Hubble reporting system.
- Anually reconcile capital equipment across the GL with fleet records.
- Twice a year recalculate equipment allocation costs, including unallocated indirect expenses, and develop new incremental charge rates.
- Prepare various supplemental reports on Days 10-16.
- Perform ad hoc reporting tasks.
- Assist in data formatting/uploads for WEX fuel and P-Card files.
- Create uploads for the Accounts Payable team to allocate fuel and other indirect costs.
Additional Duties:
- Leverage advanced Excel skills (VlookUps, Pivot tables) to aid team members in streamlining tasks and reducing errors.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
- Master's degree not required but preferred.
- CPA certification or eligibility not required but preferred.
- 1-2 years of work experience preferred; however, consideration will be given to new graduates with relevant work or internship experience.
