OUTSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE FOR BUILDING MATERIALS
Develops and expands customers to increase company sales and profit.
EXPERIENCE : Three to four years of related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMPENSATION :
35,000 / Annually plus commission
Company truck, fuel card, 401K, paid time off, health insurance & more
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Develop; new customer accounts through cold calls, working potential customer lists, contacting subcontractors in the area, contacting companies who previously rejected proposals, etc.
Negotiates pricing levels to encourage business.
Maintains positive relations and increases business with current customers. Obtains and records current information on customers.
Collects past due accounts payable up to 60 days out.
Accurately estimates materials needed and add-on merchandise.
Recommends adjustments to current product line and pricing to remain competitive.
Attends and participates in all company-sponsored training programs as required.
EDUCATION : High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES :
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and / or governmental regulations.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as; discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to interpret instructions furnished in a written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, sales and customer service.
Knowledge of building materials products (especially commodities) and lumber.
