Job Description
Reporting to the Engineer In Charge – Arena Technology & Broadcast Systems, the Engineering Technician will split time between event support, maintenance and project-based assignments relating to MLSE’s production control room, LED and broadcast infrastructure. This position is primarily passionate about technology operations and will support all MLSE venues.
Responsibilities:
- Setup and support game day equipment requirements including but not limited to, scoring & timing, communications systems, league provided replay & stats distribution, temporary video displays and signal distribution/routiing
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and infrastructure issues
- Participate in the development and application of maintenance schedules and routine system health checks
- Provide review, mentorship and installation support for temporary production and broadcast systems
- Install and commission control room hardware and verify software
- Respond to event-related outages and repair damaged equipment
- Perform other administrative or service functions as the need arises
Qualifications

- Validated experience in a related field or work experience
- Demonstrated growth in a multifaceted arena, live production, or broadcast environments
- Familiarity with production and broadcast equipment including switchers, cameras, replay, LED Control, graphics, projection and intercom
- Knowledgeable in audio and video signal patching, routing, and signal distribution
- Outstanding troubleshooting skills
- A punctilious self-starter with the ability to work independently
- Proven ability to complete self-guided installation and commissioning assignments
- Experience with Digital Signage systems, A/V Programming, eSports, Virtual Production
- Familiar with Evertz, ChyronHego, Audinate, RTS, Allen & Heath and Sony operating systems
- Proficient in low-voltage cable termination
- Familiar with fiber optic cable properties and termination
- Able to comprehend functional drawings
- Experience with sports scoring and timing controllers, data distribution and displays
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays for event-based work
