We are currently seeking a skilled Controller to join our financial team. This role involves working closely with our Vice President, focusing on month-end close processes and managing general ledger accounts. The ideal candidate will apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to perform analytical work and conduct thorough reviews of financial records. Responsibilities
- Collect and analyze data related to the company's operational costs
- Develop and analyze cost standards
- Perform cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis
- Establish costs of business processes such as administration, labor, shipping, etc.
- Perform account reconciliations
- Prepare audit reports and present findings to management
- Recommend changes to company processes and policies to reduce cost and maximize profit
- Advise executives and upper management on appropriate costing based on financial data
- Manage the company’s balance sheet and accounting books
- Support other company accountants with invoicing and capital expenditure
- Maintain audit schedules and respond to audit inquiries
- Oversee the AP and AR processes
Qualifications
- BS in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- 5 years of cost accounting experience
- Advanced knowledge of mathematics and statistics
- Strong financial analysis skills
- Ability to prepare financial reports and give recommendations based on available data
- In-depth knowledge of financial guidelines and regulations
- Excellent attention to detail
- Effective communication, including writing, speaking, and active listening
- Collaboration and teamwork
- Knowledge of computerized accounting systems
- Strong knowledge of spreadsheets
- Ability to work independently and balance multiple projects simultaneously
