About the Role:
As Controller, you'll partner with leadership to drive financial strategy while managing the company's accounting operations. You'll provide critical insights on project profitability, cash flow optimization, and financial planning that will directly support the company's continued growth in the competitive Florida construction market.

Core Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership:
· Partnering with executive team on strategic financial planning
· Providing critical insights on project profitability and cash optimization
· Developing meaningful financial KPIs that connect project execution to company profitability
· Translating financial data into actionable insights for leadership
Operations:
· Managing the complete accounting cycle with month/year-end closes
· Preparing and analyzing financial statements
· Overseeing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
· Managing cash flow forecasting and treasury functions
· Implementing and maintaining robust internal controls
· Coordinating with external auditors and tax professionals
· Ensuring compliance with tax requirements, bank covenants, and bonding
Other Key Duties:
· Tracking costs by project and monitoring variances
· Leading WIP reporting and revenue recognition processes
· Ensuring financial impacts of change orders are properly tracked and billed
· Tracking and managing lien releases for subcontractors and suppliers
· Analyzing job profitability and margin trends
· Leading the development of project cost forecasting models to enhance bidding accuracy
· Implementing financial controls that maintain profitability while supporting operational flexibility
· Providing financial leadership during project planning and execution phases
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, or other related field
· 10 years’ experience in project accounting/cost accounting or financial management
· Proficiency in GAAP accounting principles
· Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Procore is a plus
· Expertise in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling and advanced reporting
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
· Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate cross-departmentally
· Comfort with data-driven scorecard management and meeting rhythms
· Ability to translate financial data into actionable information for leadership team
· Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities
· Self-motivated with a growth mindset
