This position is for a 3rd Shift Gluer Operator at our facility in Charlotte, NC.
Your Role
Setting up, monitoring the machine run, and making adjustments as needed.
Purge Machine: Clean machine of cartons from previous job.
Clean up and discard all left over cartons from previous, get everything from under and around the machine, empty the trash can. Place your initials on the PFD Sheet as verification that the machine is clear and ready to start the next job
Give Gluer Feeder assignment to task to assist in the job set-up. Set-up activity: Set-up feeder, pre-breaking, folding glue, scanners, set counters, and pack station; change pack station if needed; take unneeded parts off, put on parts needed, etc.
Controlling quality and waste and maintaining housekeeping standards
Strong sense for quality and continuous improvement
Adhere to all plant safety guidelines, policies and procedures
Help operate machinery to expected performance levels
Keep work area clean throughout shift
Your Profile
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 3 years minimum experience working as an operator in a BOBST Domino and Media, 6X, Vega, International Royal
- 2 years Hot and cold experience
- Leary Gluing system in a packaging manufacturing environment.
- BOBST set up and run experience.
- Experience in a folded carton facility strongly preferred.
- Experience with Bobst folder/gluer equipment strongly preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Able to read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Excellent communication skills including verbal and written.
- Basic math skills
- Self-driven; Able to work independently
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
- Detail oriented.
- Problem solving skills.
- Mechanically inclined
