Client Advisory Services -Manager
We are an established, growing public accounting and financial services firm in the north and western suburbs of Chicago seeking a full-time client advisory services manager to join our team, in our Northbrook office. Job Summary:
The Client Advisory Service (CAS) Manager plays a critical role in providing proactive financial guidance and strategic business advice to clients. This position oversees the delivery of high-quality outsourced accounting, financial reporting, and advisory services, ensuring client satisfaction and growth. The CAS Manager will lead a team of professionals, manage client relationships, and develop advisory strategies that help clients achieve their business goals.
Responsibilities:
• Client Relationship Management:
o Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of CAS clients.
o Develop trusted advisor relationships through regular communication and strategic financial guidance.
o Understand clients’ industries, business goals, and challenges to provide tailored solutions
• Advisory Services Delivery:
o Oversee the preparation and analysis of monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
o Offer insights on business performance, KPI’s, and cash flow to support client decision-making.
o Assist clients with process improvement, strategic planning, and financial analysis.
o Oversee the preparation of client payroll tax returns and also multi-state sales tax returns.
• Team Leadership:
o Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of CAS accountants and analysts.
o Review work for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with firm quality standards.
o Facilitate training and professional development opportunities for the team.
• Process Improvement & Technology Integration:
o Identify and implement improvements to streamline accounting processes and workflows.
o Leverage cloud-based accounting software and tools to enhance service delivery.
o Stay current on technology trends and best practices in CAS.
• Business Development:
o Collaborate with partner and director to identify and pursue opportunities for CAS growth.
o Assist in preparing client assessments and proposals, presenting to prospective clients, and onboarding new engagements.
• Compliance & Risk Management:
o Ensure adherence to firm policies, accounting standards, and applicable regulations.
Required Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field.
• CPA or CMA, preferred
• 5 years of experience in public accounting, client advisory services, or outsourced accounting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and other financial reporting frameworks.
• Proficiency in cloud-based accounting software. (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite).
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines.
• Leadership and team-building experience.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with process automations tools and business intelligence dashboards.
• Industry specialization (e.g., professional services, retail, non-profit, real estate).
• Knowledge of business tax preparation experience is not required but a plus.
Compensation is commensurate with experience. There is the potential for a performance-based bonus. This full-time position offers choice of two different health insurance plans, dental and vision insurance, employer paid short-term and long-term disability insurance and life insurance, up to four weeks paid time off (PTO) your first full year, seven paid holidays and one floating holiday, support for continuing professional education (CPE) and the opportunity to contribute to a 401(k) with a matching employer contribution.
