General Manager

MMD Shops is expanding in New Jersey, and we’re looking for a dynamic General Manager to lead our team at MMD Jersey City! Established in 2006, MMD has built a reputation for excellence in the cannabis industry, operating five thriving dispensaries in California and now growing on the East Coast.

As General Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring compliance, driving sales, and fostering a positive team culture. Position Overview:

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall performance of an assigned store in accordance with company policies and procedures. This role focuses on customer service, staffing, merchandising, promotions, local marketing, and achieving key financial performance indicators (KPIs), including revenue and profit growth.

Primary Responsibilities:

*Drive profitability by effectively managing staff and achieving business objectives. *Enhance company reputation by engaging with customers, government agencies, community organizations, and employees while upholding ethical business practices. *Strengthen management effectiveness by recruiting, selecting, onboarding, training, coaching, and mentoring employees. *Communicate company values, strategies, and objectives; assign accountabilities; and evaluate job performance. *Develop and implement action plans to achieve company goals, monitoring progress and making necessary adjustments. *Coordinate procurement, marketing, accounting, and technical service policies with corporate leadership.

General Responsibilities:

*Provide a professional and welcoming experience for all customers. *Maintain a clean, well-stocked, and organized store environment. *Foster a respectful and cooperative work atmosphere, offering support to colleagues proactively. *Adhere to company appearance policies and maintain a professional presence. *Demonstrate in-depth product knowledge to assist customers with purchasing decisions. *Ensure compliance with health, safety, operational, and security policies at all times. *Motivate employees to stay focused on company mission and goals. *Maintain high customer satisfaction through quality service and product offerings. *Follow proper opening and closing procedures to safeguard employees, inventory, cash, and the store.

Requirements:

*Extensive experience in restaurant or retail operations, with at least five years of management experience in restaurants, hotels, or bar venues. *Proven ability to recruit, hire, and train staff at all levels. *Strong understanding of hospitality laws, including human resources, payroll, and business management. *Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. *Demonstrated leadership capabilities with the ability to establish a strong presence with staff and customers. *Experience in strategic employee scheduling and labor cost management. *Strong customer service orientation. *Ability to navigate and adapt to the complexities of the fast-evolving cannabis retail industry. *Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales goals. *Strong team player with the ability to work effectively with diverse personalities. *Ability to excel in a high-demand, fast-paced environment. *Proficiency in POS systems, scheduling systems, and Microsoft Office.

Physical Requirements:

*Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours). *Ability to move and lift up to 20 pounds.

Position Details:

Experience Required:

• Minimum of 4 years in a management role.

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation is $30.00 - $35.00/hour.
