Job Description:
This role involves working with management to establish and maintain appropriate repair, appraisal, and re-inspection guidelines and workflow. The ideal candidate will have experience in auto damage assessment and be able to provide expert advice on repair guidelines and workflow as part of a long-term planning process.
The selected individual will be responsible for managing and maintaining a productive and effective workload schedule to accomplish required tasks and goals. They will also be expected to coach and train auto repair shops, independent appraisal firms, and outside staff appraisers concerning appropriate repair and appraisal guidelines.
A key aspect of this position is performing reviews of high-volume, high-value, highly complex auto body shop estimates in the claims-related processing software portal. The successful candidate will be able to negotiate repair costs directly with shops in and out of the Company's network and determine which appraisals, re-inspections, and closed file audits need to be performed.
In addition to these duties, the Auto Damage Assessment Specialist will be responsible for interviewing, telephoning, or corresponding with insureds, claimants, witnesses, police, and others. They will also investigate claims, document files, write damage estimates, and obtain signed and/or recorded statements from insureds, claimants, witnesses, and other individuals as needed.
